THE KRANKSQUAD is a scam created by PEET GOLAN, who is known around the Northeast U.S. for playing Bass with bands such as PSYCHOTIC LARRY, W.O.C.C., Earthwurm and PIPSQUEAK (a band Peet started with two Bass players and no guitar).

In Fall of 1999 Peet’s Side Project PIPSQUEAK ended up disbanding because of members moving to Minneapolis and New York. However, Peet’s addiction to playing in multi-Bass bands didn't stop.

It was time for something new! Another project?

While sitting in the park in his home town of Waltham, MA., gently sipping on a bottle of Krank 2.0, watching special needs kids and the elderly dance to the cover band playing center stage. Peet noticed the dancers sporadic gyrations appeared to resemble something being kranked. Peet looked at them and thought " what a krankin' lookin squad, What a great name for a band, but it's gotta be somethin' krazy and every song has to has to have the word krank in it."

Dueling basses didn't satisfy Peet’s lust for "Low End" so Voila! An upright was thrown into the mix. Peet changed his name to Kapt. Krank and made a web site for the band, then told the rest of the Squad they were in the band after he published the site to the web and the rest, as they say, is history. Viva Krank!

Kapt. Krank (Bass and vocals) enlisted the skills of Gkrank, an old high school friend from Waltham, MA , (bass and vocals) Dark Mark Krank, ex-Fire Pig, Twitcher (upright bass) and VomitKrank, ex-Spermatazoa (Drums) and the Krankin’ ensued!

The Kranksquad played their first show in Allston Rock City, Boston in January 2000. It was a great night, the club was sold out and the crowd was screaming Krank at the top of their lungs by the end of the set.

A week after the show, they took the wad of cash from their first show and hit the studio at the Pino Ranch in Waltham, MA. to record their first record "Less talk, More Krank" due out in late November 2000.

The Kranksquad rocked on until May of 2000 when Vomitkrank got married and moved away, leaving the 3 Bassists without a drummer. The Squad then recruited Kranky Spears, (of the band Glutton/cousin of the famous Brittany Spears) to fill the
void left by VomitKrank on skins and tins.

The Kranksquad continues to conquer the Northeast with their catchy multi-Bass party band.
Keep an eye out for the release of "Less talk, More Krank" available on the web or shows only.
